Attempt to bounce a ball from one projection into another (2013)

From a series of works that use the form of actions-across-frames, this simple performance for camera, split over two screens, shows a ball bouncing out of the projection frame, seemingly re-appearing in the screen on the opposite wall.
The double-screen film installation activates the space through suggesting that the action witnessed in frame continues in the out-of-frame, between the two screens, in the space of the viewer. The 16mm film projectors are considered ‘performers’ and as the looping film continuously shifts in and out of synch, they mark out a fluid time in space.
